00:00.00 kinkella Hello and welcome to the pseudo archeological podcast episode 133 I am your host Dr Andrew Kingkella and tonight 2023 a look back otherwise known as the year in review. Pseudo archeology style all right man. So here. We are end of the year I'm actually cheating a little bit because if we're honest, I'm recording this on January first so already it's just a pile of lie dude you know it's just what you've come to expect? Let's be honest here goes Andrew Kingkella lying again to his fans and listeners. But. What can we? What can we get out of this all right here's what we can get out of this so I thought I would just take some time you know and look back on what I've recorded this year and kind of what I've learned in terms of the podcast and. What were some of the what were some of the lows and lower lows of of doing this and you know it's funny I was I was thinking back and I'm like I'm like how long like how long has it been how how long has it been since the beginning of the year you know where was i. 01:35.41 kinkella In this podcast in terms of what was going on a a year ago and so what I did um because as we all know I'm an absolute narcissist I went to Spotify and I'm actually on it right now. And I just scrolled down because it's it's really easy just to scroll down all my episodes and they kind of have the date there of when they were released and I just thought I'd talk about you know, kind of where it was and what I was thinking and um, what's happened since. Then and I thought not only am I a liar but I'm also a cheat and so I thought I would start by cheating and really talking about um the episode I did on. Ancient apocalypse I believe it's episode 1 ah 5 and why am I cheating because that actually came out December Seventh Twenty Twenty two so I'm just kind of reaching back a bit more than I should but it's like why am I doing this. It's because that whole Graham Hancock ancient apocalypse thing I think colored a large part of 2023 for this podcast. You know, especially the first part because Graham hanop comes out with his dopey as show you know, right? at that time. 03:06.93 kinkella And that was the first time I learned how angry his fans get you know when you say anything against him. It's it's hilarious and stupid and funny like all at the same time It's hilarra stupid funny and also scary Hilaris stupid funny is scary. It's kind of how it is and I just I know we've talked about this other times but I I do think not a week goes by in honesty that I don't think about this you know like. Why his fans get so pissed when I make fun of it. You know and and I've I've again brought up various ideas I've had about that over time but it's still It's just shocking to me and I just I know the hate I'm going to get when I talked about that but you know I remember doing that show. And I did a Youtube channel video along with it and that's when I got the real hate right? That's you see friends 2023 started for me with hate. Yeah um and the the further I went down that vein. You know, just the the the angrier some of these people got but it's funny I also I enjoy um discussing it you know um I enjoy the feedback from you guys on that stuff and actually as I go through this. 04:39.30 kinkella If you guys have feedback on shows you'd like to see me do themes topics. Whatever I'm always open to that stuff so feel free to send something to this channel feel free to just comment on my Youtube channel on King Keella teaches archaeology. You can just comment on like the most recent video doesn't even matter. If it if your comment doesn't go with the video I'll just see it and it's really easy for me to see those comments and I can kind of do shows that you're interested in. But anyway that that whole ancient apocalypse stupid vibe is is what started the year for me then of course I went to ancient my astronauts which was episode 1 of 6 and speaking of stupid I still do vote ancient astronauts as the very most stupid topic of all in all of pseudor archeology and that saying a lot my friends that one for me was. Fun to do. It was easy to do because it had to do with the ancient maya you know and behind the scenes on this when I'm a little worried about trying to find a topic for the week you know it's always nice if it's maya related because I know I kind of got this. You know with my with my background. In Maya Archeology I just feel super comfortable and I can just kind of knock those out you know and that's why you'll see um as you look through some of the themes of this show especially over this year that there's like this maya vibe. You know in terms of coming up with topics. 06:13.75 kinkella It's funny. It's like this show goes about once every two weeks and I swear to you guys I come up with a topic about once every two weeks you know I get freaked out and then something kind of parts through the clouds and I'm like oh I could talk about that that would work speaking of the Maya. Oneos episode one zero seven which came out luckily in 2023 on January. Fourth good god almost exactly a year ago I did 2012 just gave ah, you know an overview of the maya 2012 always interesting I always dig talking about that too because I find that that the general public is always like. Really interested in that and it's again, it's fun to talk about it. That's one of those topics. Um, it's the opposite of the ancient apocalypse stuff the twenty twelve topic is just like happy all around. You know the general public is interested in it I'm happy to talk about it when I give the answers to how the maya. 07:12.39 kinkella Viewed 2012 the um audience seems to get it and they're like cool with it. You know so that's just that's like a ah smiley one all around and and it's like as I go through these I I have like these guttural reactions. You know and it's kind of fun I haven't thought of some of these in a while episode 1 to 8 clovis first forever. This is one of those ones. Oh this is one of those ones that that kind of goes back to the ancient apocalypse thing archeologist. Haven't seriously said clovis first in decades you know that clovis first being that the clovis culture was the first one into North America at like I forget that earlier Eleven thousand years ago or something. It's like no no, no, no archeologists have. Have pushed that timeline back to you know 16000? or maybe even more nobody says ah and and that that gets back to that again that Graham Hancock thing where they just constantly prattle on about stuff that archeologists haven't done in decades and they continually. Say we do. That's aggravating like when I think of that. Um there's a couple others on here that that go with that too where it's just like dude we we just don't believe we don't believe that anymore, please stop. 08:44.36 kinkella Telling me I believe in clovis first I don't please stop I get this I swear to you guys not a week goes by that I don't get like oh yeah, you believe in clothes first on my Youtube channel comments not a week goes by like um, no I don't ah. Like I don't know why that there's this like just this pile of ignoramuses that does that I don't know um, episode 1 on nine I took a left turn. The great tone would debate because in my copious amounts of free time. When I'm not being awesome as like a podcast guy. Um I like playing the electric guitar and I am I believe the scientific term is ah a shitty guitarist. But dude I get so much joy out of it. But I I did this thing it's it's sciencey and it's a step aside of archeology I very rarely do that because I do take seriously um, having an archeology bent to this show. But this one time I was like dude I got to talk about this. The idea that the kind of would. That an electric guitar is made out of does it make any difference in the sound. The answer is of course no but I knew that the there's this group of guitarists in that in that world who would get totally pissed at me for saying that and I was right. 10:14.91 kinkella I Got a really angry letter that came to the station about just what it What? Ah you see that the the theme on these you guys is well it's it's what a jerk and Asshole I Am oh yeah, Oh Yeah. Ah, oh and then their next threat is that they are um that they're not going to listen anymore. Oh no, no, no, no plea. Please God Don't stop listening I don't give god. 10:52.50 kinkella I don't care. You've caught me at a crucial time friends I'm being too honest, um, let's let's move on ah god yeah maybe this is killing me maybe I shouldn't do this episode one ten the water erosion hypothesis. All the idea that. The sphinx is like 10000 years old because of the erosion on its surface. What's this is just some preposterous bullshit for ah you guys I don't know I don't know oh know what I'm doing that that that hurt me I think I think I had 3 mini strokes on on that one. Um I did follow that up on one eleven I just answered I remember I did a part 2 on answering the questions on the sphinx because some of the listeners were like hey we want to know a little bit more about the sphinx and I was like that's cool. Um, but you know. And that note I I'm gonna take a break I'm gonna take a break, get myself back together I didn't realize how much fortitude and spine I was gonna need to go through my own shows from 2023 um, this is harder than I thought so I'm going to take a breather maybe I'll make a drink I don't know but I'll be right back.
