About the Archaeology Podcast Network:

The Archaeology Podcast Network aims to produce content about heritage and the past for both the public and practitioners, enabling a better understanding of the work archaeologists and related professions do. We want to be developing our staff and volunteers to produce content that is worthwhile and entertaining with the goal of establishing the network as a trusted brand.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Podcast Production to join our growing team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our audio content.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of producers, ensuring they have the resources, guidance, and support to excel in their roles.

  • Develop and implement strategies to acquire high-quality guests and source compelling content aligned with our brand and audience.

  • Manage timelines effectively.

  • Monitor podcast performance metrics and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in podcast production.

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and advertising, to ensure seamless integration and promotion of podcasts.

  • Represent the podcast network at industry events and conferences.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in podcast production or a related field (e.g., radio, audio journalism).

  • Proven track record of success in managing teams and projects.

  • Strong understanding of the podcasting landscape and current trends.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • A passion for storytelling and audio production.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficiency in project management tools and audio editing software.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience in developing and launching new podcasts.

  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills.

  • Experience securing sponsorships and partnerships.

  • A network of contacts in the podcasting industry.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing company and make a significant impact on the future of archaeological education. We are a volunteer-based organization with compensation at $600 per month. As the network grows, this could turn into a full time position. Compensation will be reviewed annually.
