Dr. Andrew Kinkella is a dedicated archaeologist and educator, serving as the Director of the Moorpark College Archaeological Program (MCAP) in California. Since 1993, he has led 17 field seasons in the jungles of west-central Belize, focusing on the Classic Maya civilization (AD 250–900). His research centers on 25 cenotes in the Cara Blanca region, exploring their use in ancient Maya water rituals through both surface and underwater archaeology.

Beyond his fieldwork, Dr. Kinkella is committed to making archaeology accessible and engaging. He shares his expertise through his YouTube channel, Kinkella Teaches Archaeology, offering educational content with a personal and humorous touch. He has also contributed to various media projects, including the History Channel's History’s Greatest Mysteries and the Science Channel's What on Earth? series.
