Recording History in the Making - CRMArch 191
On today's episode Chris, Stephen and Doug talk about the responsibility of recording history as it's happening around us. As the US explodes in protest over the murder of George Floyd archaeologists are wondering what to do about contentious history. What do we do with all the statues that really should come down? What do we do about the graffiti that is being created right now that represents the thoughts and emotions of protestors? These are tough questions and we try to answer them on this episode.

Sundown Towns - America's Forgotten History - Dig It 6
This episode we discuss a major part of American history that has been omitted from most history book across the United States. As having anthropological backgrounds which saw some of the beginnings of institutionalized racism, it is important to address history that has been brushed under the rug. This is seen with Sundown Towns. There were thousands of these towns across the United States dominating counties, cities, towns, suburbs... With current events regarding human rights and curfews, it is important to bring awareness to this "forgotten" history found in America.

Geophysics, Photogrammetry and Drones with Wesley Weatherbee - ArchaeoTech 129
Paul and Chris talk to Wesley Weatherbee about his research in the Bay of Fundy. Using drones, photogrammetry and other analysis he is, among other things, looking at early human behavior and occupation.
Wesley is a current graduate student in the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies at Saint Mary's University. His research on past cultural landscapes in the Bay of Fundy marries remote sensing and geomorphology with archaeology. He serves on the board of directors for the Nova Scotia Archaeology Society and is part of a diverse team in Nova Scotia developed to investigate critical climate-related risks, opportunities, and capacities relating to archaeology in Nova Scotia. His photogrammetry work has recently been nominated to be in the Cultural Heritage Spotlight on Sketchfab.com. He also runs a blog at digitalarchns.com intending to promote digital archaeology outreach and education.
