Stephanie is an Egyptologist who specializes in basketry, cordage, and matting, researching their role in both daily life and funerary practices. She also studies the ways cultures preserve traditional knowledge such as crafting techniques, ancestral histories, or folklore over generations.
She is an advocate for accessible archaeology, public education, and outreach. Her journey into archaeology wasn't easy, she was a first-generation college student who finally enrolled at the age of 28 after years of struggling with housing insecurity. Her experiences in finding her path to become an archaeologist have made her passionate about making the field more accessible for anyone who wants to enter, as well as breaking down the walls between academic research and the public. She hopes to do this through sharing her own journey and research through many different outlets!
